The Kings moved from Kansas City to Sacramento in between the time Adams was drafted and first played. Known for a solid career at Boston College, Adams was playing for the Springfield Fame of the United States Basketball League when he was drafted.Īdams made the Kings roster for the 1985-86 season. The 1985 third rounder acquired by the Kings was used on 5′10″ point guard Michael Adams (66th overall). Dennard saw action in 43 games and produced 2.1 PPG, 2.3 RPG, 1.0 APG and 0.5 SPG in 9.6 MPG. The former Blue Devil shot 47% on field goals and 65% on free throws.ĭennard made Denver’s roster, but only lasted for a portion of the season. In late February of 1984, the Nuggets decided to waive Dennard to make room for forward Anthony Roberts. As part of the deal, Dennard had to make Denver’s roster at the start of the 1983-84 season for the third rounder to be conveyed to Kansas City.ĭennard ended his Kings tenure with 3.4 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 0.9 APG and 1.0 SPG in 52 career games. The Kings opted to move Dennard to the Nuggets in an offseason deal for a third round pick in 1985. The Kings lost the tiebreaker to the Denver Nuggets (45-37) for the sixth and final seed in the playoffs. They went 25-26 over the final 51 games to finish the year 45-37. The Kings were 20-11 in their first 31 games. The 6′8″ forward compiled 1.3 PPG, 2.4 RPG and 0.7 SPG in 10.2 MPG. He missed the first 50 games of the season before returning and playing sparingly in 22 games. In February of 1982, Dennard signed a three-year contract with the Kings at midseason. Dennard produced 10.3 PPG and 10.0 RPG and was also voted a starter for the CBA’s Eastern Division All-Star team. He joined the Montana Golden Nuggets of the Continental Basketball Association. A bruiser and undersized rebounder, Dennard was a final cut in 1981 training camp with the Kings.
